We’re no strangers to home building/renovation/remodeling. It’s not our first rodeo. So we completely understand that even the best laid plans change. Case in point: our roof.
The original roof was a 2-pitch (shown in yellow). We wanted to reconfigure the roofline to assist in the placement of our solar system, as well as add some headroom to make the room on the left more useable (shown in red).
We thought we had approval from the Comune and all was good, but we recently were told those plans have changed. Apparently there is a rule against adding new volume in the historic center as well as some other laws that would make final approval from Genoa unlikely.
So back to the 2-pitch roof we go. It’s certainly not the end of the world and shouldn’t pose too much trouble. If a problem like this is the worst thing we face, we’ll be doing pretty well. We’ll just roll with the punches. Onward (but not upward)!
