One roof down. Zero to go.

The last time she was in town, Nikko installed a webcam on the outside of our current place, facing the palazzo job site. Every morning, we wake up and check in on whatever exterior progress is happening. Last week, we were told that on Monday the construction company would be there with special asbestos mitigation people to remove the final panels from the roof.

And sure enough, when we checked the webcam, the panels were gone. Success!

So if you’re scoring at home, that means the roof has been removed, interior demolition continues apace, and they can begin putting a new roof back on.

We also recently received some good news: some of the lower level vaults, which we were told were previously not salvageable, may be saved after all. Our builders have come up with a solution that they plan to try. No promises it will work, but a chance is better than no chance at all. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
